1. The Home Depot
The Home Depot (HD) was hit hard by hackers last year. The multinational home improvement retailer confirmed it was breached in September, and the incident reportedly has cost community banks more than $90 million.

2. JPMorgan Chase
Hackers attacked JPMorgan Chase (JPM) last July, and the global financial services firm exposed information from 76 million households and 7 million small businesses due to the incident.

 3. The White House
Even the White House is susceptible to cyber-attacks, and hackers who allegedly may have been working for the Russian government breached several White House computers last year.

4. Apple’s iCloud
Hackers last year reportedly attacked Apple’s (AAPL’s) iCloud and used this cloud storage service to illegally access nude photos of celebrities.

5. Staples
Office supplies retailer Staples (SPLS) last year suffered a data breach in which information from 1.16 million customer credit and debit cards that were used at 119 of its U.S. locations was stolen over a six-month period.

6. Albertsons
Supermarket chain Albertsons was hacked last summer, and the company said malware may have been used to capture customer data at stores in more than a dozen states.

7. UPS
The United Parcel Service (UPS) said data from approximately 105,000 customer transactions was compromised due to a cyber-attack that took place during the first eight months of 2014.

8. USPS
The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) last November reported a cyber-attack that may have compromised the personal information of more than 800,000 employees and data on customers who contacted its call center between January and August.

 9. Sony Pictures Entertainment
Computer systems at the corporate network of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SNE) were breached and taken offline by a malware-based attack last November. The movie studio reported that five of its unreleased films, including its „Annie“ remake, were leaked to file-sharing websites as well.

10. Independence Blue Cross
Pennsylvania-based health insurer Independence Blue Cross (IBC) last month said several of its members‘ Social Security numbers might have been compromised in a data breach. The incident reportedly occurred last October after maintenance workers discarded IBC member records that were supposed to be moved from one floor to another at IBC’s offices.
