Software Uninstall Workflow

What does it mean?

In today’s world, change is constant. Employees move to different departments or take on new roles within the company. As a result, they may no longer use software they previously requested. This leads to unnecessary licensing costs. These costs can be avoided by regularly checking with employees to see if they still need all the software they have installed. This process is fully automated via a workflow.

Process workflow

  • Every 3 months, a check is performed to determine which licensed software is installed on which computers.
  • Each user receives an email listing all licensed software on their computer. The email contains a link to a workflow website.
  • On the workflow website, the user can select which software
    • will continue to be used
    • is no longer needed
      • This software is then automatically uninstalled.
  • License management is notified via email about the software that has been uninstalled.
  • The transactions are logged in a database table.
