What is a Secret Dependency?

  • A secret can have various dependencies.
  • These dependencies can be recognized automatically with Secret Server.
  • The dependencies are determined using the Discovery Process.

How are dependencies managed?

  • Dependencies can also be updated manually:
  • If “Remote Password Changing” is active for this secret, the password is not only changed for this secret, but the dependencies are also taken into account.
  • This means, for example, that the password for this Windows account is updated in the Windows service.
  • The respective dependencies are also updated.
